Barcelona’s great season ended in disappointing fashion while Juventus secure their seventh-straight Serie A crown

Barcelona’s hopes of an unbeaten LaLiga campaign were ended in their penultimate game as they lost 5-4 at Levante.

The champions had gone 36 games unbeaten but trailed 5-1 after 56 minutes and their dramatic fightback came up short.

Emmanuel Boateng’s hat-trick and Enis Bardhi’s brace put lowly Levante in charge, and despite Philippe Coutinho completing a treble of his own and Luis Suarez scoring a penalty, Barca’s bid for history came up short.

Meanwhile, Juventus were confirmed as Serie A winners for the seventh season running following a goalless draw with Roma.

Napoli had effectively handed the title to the Bianconeri after they were held to a 2-2 draw by Torino last weekend, which left Juve all-but mathematically guaranteed another crown.

Needing just a point at Stadio Olimpico, Juventus picked up the draw required to confirm a 34th Scudetto.
