Italian youngster Gabriele Corbo in action
German champions Bayern Munich appear to have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Italian youth star Gabriele Corbo.
The 18-year-old has been turning heads in youth football with Serie B side Spezia, despite waiting to make his professional debut for the club.
Corbo has represented Italy at Under-17 and Under-18 level and has been tipped as a future star of Italian football.
So much so that clubs from around Europe are keeping close tabs on his development, including Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
However, according to TZ, it’s German giants Bayern who appear to have won the race to sign the in-demand centre-back.
Corbo is reportedly close to agreeing personal terms and Bayern are confident of snapping up the youngster from under the noses of their European rivals.
