Liverpool target Kevin Strootman says he is happy at Roma – but admits his future is still not clear.

The talented Dutchman has been linked with a move to the Merseyside club, who believe he could be a decent replacement for Philippe Coutinho.

Despite reported interest during the January transfer window, Strootman remained at Roma although speculation regarding a move away from the club continues.

Now the 28-year-old, who has made 20 Serie A appearances so far this term, has broken the silence on his future.

When asked about a potential move away from the club, he told Sky Sport Italia: “You never know in football.

“I am happy here and Roma supported me after the injury, so I’d like to win something, but this season we’ve only got the Champions League left as a target and that would be incredibly difficult.

“Napoli and Juve are stronger than us, but we are fighting for third place. We’d take fourth too, as we need to get into the Champions League.”
