Mourinho has been United manager since May 2016

Thursday, January 25, 2018

It has certainly been a busy week for Manchester United.

The Red Devils finally tied up a deal to sign Alexis Sanchez and now Jose Mourinho has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the helm until 2020, with an option to extend it for another year.

Mourinho, who succeeded Louis van Gaal as United manager in May 2016, has enjoyed a good spell at Old Trafford, winning the League Cup and Europa League in his first season.

This season, United are fighting on three fronts, so unsurprisingly, most fans are rejoicing at this news.

However, one Twitter user pointed out that next season will mark the 54-year-old’s third season in charge and history shows that Mourinho’s third season in charge can prove to be a curse!
